High bay lights are usually installed at heights more than 3 meters, and you should consider the amount of light they throw on the floor or table. An illuminance of 250 to 300lux on the table is suitable for most workshops. While for most warehouses, 150 to 250lx would be enough.
The easiest way to measure illuminance is to use a lux meter, which is not expensive. The illuminance of a place in the room is the sum of the light sources and reflection from the wall. Thus, you have to measure actual illuminance with a lux meter.
But to estimate the illuminance before you buy a light, we can use Dialux and other lighting design software to measure the lux levels at different positions, if IES files of the fixture are available.
Lifetime and Lumens depreciation:
Always ask the lighting manufacturer for Lumens depreciation reports e.g. LM80 certification of LEDs used in High Bay lights. These reports describe how much lumens will reduce after a rated life span of LED. For example, if estimated life of LED is 50,000 hours, and it is LM80 certified, it will sustain 80% lumens after 50,000 hours, and only 20% light dissipation may happen.

A regular good-quality power supply has a lifetime up to 50,000 hours. The power supply’s life time gets halved for each 10℃ rise in its working temperature or vice versa.

There are one or two bins, which look like the standard white light of its CCT, and the other two or three bins look different. That is why you may find each company sells LED with different light colours even though their specs might be the same. Some poor quality LED lights might even look bluish, pinkish, or purplish.
